Description: Civil War was a massive crossover event pitting hero against hero over the issue of superhero registration. The "Road to Civil War" which led up to this limited series ran through Amazing Spider-Man (Marvel, 1999 series) #529-531, Fantastic Four (Marvel, 1998 series) #536, 537 and the New Avengers: Illuminati (Marvel, 2006 series) #1 one-shot. There was a Civil War: Opening Shot giveaway to promote the limited series and a number of one-shots and crossovers that tied in. The Civil War crossover comics are as follows: [Limited Series] - Civil War: Front Line (Marvel, 2006) #1-11; - Civil War: X-Men (Marvel, 2006 series) #1-4; - Civil War: Young Avengers & Runaways (Marvel, 2006 series) #1-4; [Crossovers] - Amazing Spider-Man (Marvel, 1999 series) #532-538; - Black Panther (Marvel, 2005 series) #18, 23-25; - Cable and Deadpool (Marvel, 2004 series) #30-32; - Captain America (Marvel, 2004 series) #22-25; - Fantastic Four (Marvel, 1998 series) #538-543; - Heroes for Hire (Marvel, 2006 series) #1-3; - Iron Man (Marvel, 2005 series) #13, 14; - Ms. Marvel (Marvel, 2006 series) #6-8; - New Avengers (Marvel, 2005 series) #21-25; - Punisher War Journal (Marvel, 2006 series) #1-3; - She-Hulk (Marvel, 2005 series) #8; - Thunderbolts (Marvel, 2006 series) #103-105; - Wolverine (Marvel, 2003 series) #42-47; - X-Factor (Marvel, 2005 series) #8, 9; [One-Shots] - Iron Man / Captain America: Casualties of War (Marvel, 2007 series) #1; - Civil War: Choosing Sides (Marvel, 2007 series) #1; - Civil War: The Confession (Marvel, 2007 series) #1; - Civil War: The Initiative (Marvel, 2007 series) #1; - Civil War: The Return (Marvel, 2007 series) #1; - Civil War Files (Marvel, 2006 series) #1; - Civil War: Battle Damage Report (Marvel, 2007 series) #1; - Civil War: War Crimes (Marvel, 2007 series) #1. There were four comic-sized reprint books that collected various one shots and stories including Civil War: - Civil War: Casualties of War (Marvel, 2007 series) #[nn]; - Civil War: Amazing Spider-Man (Marvel, 2007 series) #[nn]; - Civil War: Black Panther War Crimes (Marvel, 2007 series)#[nn]; - Civil War: Thunderbolts Swimming With Sharks (Marvel, 2006 series) #[nn] There was also Civil War Chronicles (Marvel, 2007 series) #1-12 which reprinted the entire limited series with various crossovers. There was a parody one-shot entitled Ultimate Civil War: Spider-Ham (Marvel, 2007 series) #1 which came out during the run of the limited series as well as a What If? Civil War (Marvel, 2008 series) #1 one-shot and a Civil War: House of M (Marvel, 2008 series) #1-5 limited series that were published after the series concluded. Civil War was followed-up by a short crossover event entitled "Casualties of War" which ran through: - Blade (Marvel, 2006 series) #5; - Ghost Rider (Marvel, 2006 series) #8-11; - Moon Knight (Marvel, 2006 series) #7-9; - Winter Soldier: Winter Kills (Marvel, 2007 series) #1; - Wolverine (Marvel, 2003 series) #48. "Casualties of War" was immediately followed by "The Initiative" crossover which ran through a number of comics as well as launched a few new series and limited series.
