CBCS Membership and Rewards Programs
 

When CBCS opened for business in May 2014, it changed the landscape of the grading community. Eighteen months later, we have grown to have more than 7,000 individual submitters and have expanded our product offerings to meet a growing and more diverse customer base. We realize there are many approaches to collecting, and our goal is to give our customers options to help them shape their individual collections to match their interests. With this in mind, CBCS launched the Original Art Program and our Verified Signature Program to provide choices and flexibility to our customers.

CBCS is once again implementing changes to meet the needs of our customers and of the industry as a whole. Specifically, CBCS is now offering our customers two new programs that provide opportunities to save money while continuing to grow their collections—an optional membership program and a rewards program.

Additionally, we are modifying our pricing structure. We will continue to provide graders’ notes and submission forms free of charge.

CBCS is offering three different levels of membership: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Each level of membership includes discounted pricing and automatic enrollment in the new rewards program.

 
Bronze:
$100. Customers who choose this membership level receive two 2-Day Modern Tier coupons worth $80 combined and three Fast Passes worth $30 total. This saves Bronze-level members $10 off our normal prices.

Silver:
$150. Silver-level members receive membership pricing on submissions as well as two coupons for our Rapid Tier service, a savings of $30 (two Rapid Tiers normally would cost $180, but are included in the $150 Silver-level membership fee).

Gold:
$500. In addition to membership pricing on submissions, the Gold-level membership includes a 2-for-1 coupon toward a 1-Day Tier submission—a potential savings of $2,250 (two comics that could cost $2,750 each will cost Gold-level members only $2,750 plus the $500 membership fee).

Beginning December 1, customers can select and purchase any of the above membership levels. Please note that non-members can continue to submit directly to CBCS without going through third parties.
 
Rewards program:
With free and automatic enrollment for members, our rewards program will generate real savings. For every dollar members spend on grading, they will receive 2 reward points. Once a member has 100 reward points, they can exchange those 100 points for a $1 credit to apply toward a future submission. During any one-year membership period, if the number of points accumulated exceeds 10,000, the member will begin receiving 4 points per dollar spent, rather than the normal 2 points, for the remainder of that year.

The rewards program will launch in 2016 for our members. All submissions that occur between December 1 and the launch of the rewards program will count toward that member’s reward point total; these points will be available for exchange after the first of the year.
 

One other change is a modification to our grading tiers. The Expanded Modern and Expanded Consumer tiers are being combined into one Expanded Tier. The new expanded tier will be for books 1974 and older with a $250 maximum value.
