San Francisco Pedigree

Choose Pedigree: Ordered By

This collection is another that originates from the World War Two era.  The collection was started by a man named Tom Reilly, who was drafted into the army after a year of collecting comics.  He had his parents continue to purchase comics for him until his death near the end of the war.  The comics remained stored in his room until the 1970s.  Though there is some speculation the collection may have been as large as 5000 comics, because it was sold wothout an original list and spread far and wide to collectors the true size may never be known.  The superior white pages, fantastic cover colors and preservation make this known as the second best collection next to the Edgar Church/Mile Hile collection.  It is identifiable by the distinct Tom Reilly stamp found on the back cover of many of the comics, and copies are still being discovered today.
